Vacancy Lab Manager – Gent


For an international Contract Research Organisation specialised in gastro-intestinal research, we’re looking for a Lab Manager. This growing organisation is focused on the development of sophisticated in vitro simulation models of the human gut. Within the department, you will fulfil a key role by managing, coordinating, and supporting the daily performances in the lab. As a Lab Manager, you will ensure all users are in compliance with the regulatory requirements by communicating and enforcing the laboratory safety rules. You will also identify operational HSE risks, and the legal requirements arising from new activities and take appropriate measures to comply. Finally, you will focus on improvements to optimise the clinical projects

In addition, you will also be responsible for the following:

  • Evaluate and report incidents
  • Ensuring that the laboratory remains in compliance
  • Participating in operation and QA improvements projects


We’re looking for someone with the following profile:

  • A master’s degree in Microbiology or equivalent
  • Scientific background with at least 10+ years of experience in a laboratory environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • Work experience in a quality context
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Prioritisation skills and a team player
